Message contents are end-to-end encrypted — the server only has ciphertext. To export readable messages, export from the app on a device that has your decryption keys.
Delete account
Real delete, not "hide." You have 30 days to sign back in and cancel. After that: hard-deleted from the primary database, then purged from backups within another 30 days.
- Immediately: account hidden from all pages, handle reserved, posts tombstoned to "former member," sessions revoked.
- Day 1 and day 28: we send a reminder if you attached an email.
- Day 30: profile row, group memberships, posts, and settings are hard-deleted from the primary database.
- Day 60: all data purged from rolling backups.
- Exception: if your account is under a documented legal hold, auto-purge pauses until the hold clears. You'll be notified unless a gag order prevents it.
